Computer Classes
If you are interested in gaining experience using the computer or expanding your current computer abilities, free computer instruction is available at the South Branch.  Classes are presented through 90-minute sessions of one-on-one individual instruction.  Additional 60-minute tutoring sessions are available to supplement the class instruction.

Courses Offered:

  • Computer Basics
    This course is designed for those with little or no computer skills.  The student is introduced to the components and basic functions of a computer.
  • Internet Basics*
    This course works to create an understanding of what the Internet is and does, while showing the student how to navigate the Internet.
  • Introduction to Email*
    This course shows the user how to open and use an email account.
  • Introduction to Microsoft Word*
    This course is designed to explain and demonstrate the basic functions of the word processing program.

 *Students interested in enrolling in   this course should have a basic understanding of the computer including how to use the mouse and keyboard.
