Blue Square Graphic Volunteers at the Library
Libraries rely on volunteers for many of the "behind-the-shelves" tasks that require attention to detail and love of the library.  From teenagers to seniors, volunteers are sought at any age and ability.  Call Phyllis Elam at (586) 226-5007 for more information or download our applications here:

Blue Square Graphic Current Volunteering Needs

  • Gift shop workers - Help staff the Main Library's store.
  • Book sale helpers - duties include publicity, sorting, setting up and selling.
  • Shelf readers - adopt a shelf and keep it in correct order.
  • Special program helpers - Find your niche by staffing registration tables, seasonal events, speaker arrangements, refreshments and hospitality.
  • Converting books to allow self-check out stations to read titles.
  • Share your talent or hobby by facilitating a program for fellow residents.
