Pick Up/Return/Renew Items
Picking Up Items
After requesting an item to be put on hold, patrons receive a phone call
or email
indicating that the desired title has come in. Customers can
pick up their items at the designated "on hold" area inside the library and
can check out with the library card used to request the hold.
The North Branch Library offers a unique after-hours
pickup. If a customer calls the library to inform that s/he will not
be able to pick up their item during normal business hours, the staff will
place the book in a locker. The locker is accessible inside the
North Branch lobby. By keying in the last 7 digits of the library
card number an assigned locker will open up to reveal the checked-out
items.
Returning Items
Customers can return items to any library within
the
cooperative, regardless of where the item
was checked out. Libraries check in all items on the day returned.
Renewing Items
Most materials can be renewed, if there are no holds
placed on the item. Customers can renew items by calling the 24-hour
renewal line at (586) 226-5002, or they can renew online:
- First, access the
catalog.
Customers will need to enter their library
card number, located below the barcode on each library card, and their password (contact the library to
set up a password if unknown, (586) 226-5020).
- Select "Items Out " to view all materials currently checked-out.
- Select the box to the left of any title
and click "Renew Selected Items", or
select "Renew All Items."
