Read what you want, when you want and have the opportunity to win cool prizes! Children, teens and adults are all invited to join The Club this summer. 

This year it is even easier to join The Club! We'd love for you to visit the library every week, but we know that is sometimes difficult. This summer you can keep track of all your reading online. eep track of your entire family's summer reading progress online and you'll be informed of when you need to stop by the library to pick up a prize or, if you're a child, to spin the prize wheel. Where are the Bears Going?
Our Summer Reading Club Bears will be visiting different countries throughout the summer. Find them in the library and write down the names the flags they are holding you could win a prize! Pick up your form at any reference desk to play the summer scavenger hunt. The scavenger hunt runs June 20-August 6 at all locations.









Children: One World, Many Stories
Children from birth to grade 5 are invited to join the One World, Many Stories! Children can read or listen to as books this summer for a chance to win great prizes. This year if you complete Level Two (10 hours or 40 books) you can spin the prize wheel! Every child who completes the program will receive a book and be entered for the Building Grand Prize Drawing--a family four pack of tickets to the Detroit Zoo. The Super Grand Prize is a Nintendo DSi. Parents of the winners will also recieve a gas card for helping their child get to the library this summer.


Teens: You Are Here
Teens entering grade 6-12 this summer are invited to join You Are Here, the teen summer reading club.  Read a total of 15 hours and you win a prize.  Read a total of 30 hours this summer and you will be invited to an awesome game of laser tag inside the library at the end of the summer!  There will also be drawings for three $75 Visa gift cards.


Adult: Novel Destinations
When we say that summer reading is for all ages, we mean it. Adults age 18 and up are invited to join The Club and set a great example for all the younger in their lives. Adults need to read 3 books and rate them in order to be entered into bi-weekly prize drawings. Like children and teens, adults can track summer reading online from home, work or while on vacation.
Kona Ice at Main
The Kona Ice truck will make special weekly visits to the Main Library during summer reading. Kona Ice lets you pick and pump your own mix of flavors onto your sno-cone. They also sell ice cream. A portion of proceeds from these visits will come back to the library. Visits between 2-3pm us on the following Thursdays to enjoy a summer treat:
