The Great Scavenger Hunt
To participate, readers (called hunters) simply read a participating book, complete the author trivia challenge, and turn it in to the reference desk. If you get 8 out of 10 answers correct, the library will enter you in a drawing.
Make Artistic History
Creative and history-minded teens in grades 7-12 are invited to participate in designing a logo for the Michigan Commission on the Commemoration of the Bicentennial of the War of 1812. A maximum of two entries will be accepted from each student, and all entries must be submitted by Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009. Full contest/design guidelines and an entry form are available here at or here (under the Workshops and Special Events tab). The first-place winner will receive a $100 award and four tickets for a Lake Michigan cruise on the sloop Friends Good Will.
