Adaptive Technology Lending
Adaptive Technology Lending Program
In August 2021, the Macomb Library for the Blind and Print Disabled (MLBPD) was awarded the LSTA Improving Access to Information grant funded in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services through the Library of Michigan. With grant funding, MLBPD developed a new program called the Adaptive Technology Lending Program (ATLP) which included the purchase of 11 different adaptive technology. When the grant period ended in October 2022, the ATLP was integrated into two programs: Wi-Fi Hotspot by Mail lending program and the Circulating Adaptive Technology program. Both programs support Macomb County’s disability community with limited or no access to technology.
